Yellowstone
Yellowstone
Daaaaaaang I had no idea how many people come to visit this park. It felt like Disneyland. We waited for someone to leave to find a parking spot to see the mammoth hot springs, and surfed through crowds pouring off buses, past entire little town ice cream parlors and restaurants and then we took a scenic drive that allowed us to see some of Yellowstone’s other beauties. Big valleys, snow covered peeks, and lots of wildlife photographers with big ass telephoto lenses hoping to get that next big shot. The dogs could only go on paved route which there were not many, so outside of that crazy town the dogs spent most of the day napping in the car resentfully. The nights and mornings are COLD, but the sun is lovely and the elk saunter around without fear modeling for anyone who cares to stop and respectfully take their picture. The bison are BIG and everywhere and traffic stops to see the bears were more frequent than anticipated. We took a second day of driving and scratched the surface of the different hot springs and fishers and the diversity of this large three state park was a bit over stimulating along with all the tourists! Now on to the Grand Tetons!
