The Cultivation of Neith
The Cultivation of Neith
The Cultivation of Neith is a massive fine art acrylic goddess made up of thousands upon thousands of textured dots. Larger than life her presence creates an atmosphere of vulnerability and power simultaneously. The last layer of dots were given extra body in the paint to create an even greater depth of texture. She is covered in a high gloss UV resistant varnish. The Goddess Neith was the ancient Egyptian patron goddess and creator of the world. She is the mother of all gods and the personification of waters and chaos. I made her with tons of tiny dots as a metaphor for all women, made up of countless pieces that make the powerful whole. She is blue like the waters, growing three flowers from her mind and as the title of the piece she is still being cultivated, as are all humans. We continually grow and change and step more fully into our power with each new day and year.
