This large experimental piece is on a 20x30 canvass, framed in a floating frame, covered in 3 layers of glossy art resin.
I was experimenting with different dry times with different paints to see if I could get some of the paint to fracture and break off so I could paint beneath. This piece has many fractured lines with small gold leaf floating out from the cracks, gold dots floating above some of the shapes, and added painted linework. She reminds me that we are all multiple layers, people are organic, and what lies beneath our many surfaces is worth the exploration and the time.
